Any solutions for plastic waste in Vietnam?

The Analysis of Plastic Waste Pollution in Vietnam report shows that plastic waste is the most common among the types of waste collected, and most of it is single-use plastic.

To reduce the excessive use of plastic, many places in France have introduced waste collection billing based on the weight of the garbage collected or the number of times it is dumped. This mechanism has recorded positive changes in reducing plastic waste as well as increasing awareness about waste segregation.

In Vietnam, the establishment of a robust legal framework is crucial for effectively reducing waste in general and plastic waste in particular. The study conducted by the Paris Regional International Cooperation in Vietnam (PRX-Vietnam) provides several recommendations aimed at waste reduction in the country. These recommendations include the following:

Establish the principle of reducing both the quantity and harmfulness of wast

Encouraging repair and reuse

Producing durable goods

Supporting independent consumer associations

It can be seen that waste reduction involves the mobilization of all the stakeholders concerned: public & private stakeholders at different levels, associations, citizens, etc. KVC believes that by working together, we could all make a contribution towards a greener and cleaner Earth!
