CHUONG DUONG RENOVATION
Once an area overflowing with trash and household wastewater that harmed the natural ecosystem and human health, this stretch of land on the bank of the Red River at Alley 43/32 Bach Dang Street, Chuong Duong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, has been transformed into a livable space. The project was funded by the Embassy of Denmark and Ford Vietnam, and implemented by four organizations: Think Playgrounds, Keep Vietnam Clean, the Centre for Environment and Community Research (CECR), and ECUE.
Project Outcomes
- Collected 183.4 tons of waste with the participation of 135 volunteers.
- Conducted 4 capacity-building training sessions on data collection, zero-waste lifestyle, home composting, and the value of green spaces for the local community.
- Completed Phase 1 of the Red River Dyke Renovation Project, creating space for building a community playground and community art area in subsequent phases.
- A total of 403 Vietnamese and international volunteers took part.
