Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities is Keep Vietnam Clean’s long-running initiative for improving environmental quality inside residential communities — through waste cleanups, community engagement, and building a sense of shared responsibility for the places people actually live.
On 6 June 2026 the initiative brought Keep Vietnam Clean together with VietPlastic Global at Phuc Tan Forest Park in Hong Ha Ward, Hanoi, for a morning of cleanup work alongside local residents.

Why Phuc Tan Forest Park
Sitting along the banks of the Red River, Hong Ha Ward has changed considerably in recent years. An area that once faced serious environmental pressure is gradually becoming home to green public space serving the recreational, social and community needs of residents.
The transformation is real, and it is incomplete. Like many urban public spaces, the areas surrounding the park still accumulate litter — affecting the landscape, environmental quality and daily life of the people who use it.
That gap is the whole argument behind Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities. Protecting a public space takes more than infrastructure investment or a beautification budget; it depends on awareness and everyday habits, held by the people who pass through every day.

The Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities activity at Phuc Tan
Location: Phuc Tan Forest Park — Alley 195, Hong Ha Street, Hanoi
Time: 07:00–10:30, 6 June 2026
Participants included Keep Vietnam Clean volunteers, representatives from VietPlastic Global, local residents, and organisations, community groups and individuals interested in environmental protection.
Holding the activity on a Saturday morning and finishing before the heat of the day is a deliberate part of how Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities is run: an event that families and office volunteers can actually attend gathers more hands than one scheduled for convenience of the organisers.

What Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities aims to do
The initiative works on three fronts at once: removing waste that has already accumulated, engaging the community that shares the space, and building awareness of environmental responsibility so the space stays clean after the volunteers leave.
The order matters. A cleanup that skips the second and third fronts buys a park perhaps two weeks of cleanliness. Working alongside residents, volunteer groups and corporate partners, Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities aims to leave public spaces cleaner and more welcoming — and to encourage the habits around waste reduction and management that keep them that way.
VietPlastic Global: advancing environmental responsibility together
VietPlastic Global manufactures and supplies single-use plastic packaging for the F&B industry and nationwide distribution systems.
Partnering with a plastic packaging manufacturer on a cleanup initiative is a deliberate choice, and worth explaining. Throughout its development, VietPlastic Global has held that corporate responsibility extends beyond product quality to the communities and environment a company operates in. Alongside its core business, the company runs CSR programmes focused on community education, responsible plastic use, and proper waste sorting, collection and recycling.
“Plastic is not the problem. The way we use it and manage it after use is what creates environmental impact.”
With a stated vision of becoming a sustainable and socially responsible packaging manufacturer, VietPlastic Global works with environmental organisations, communities and partners to advance responsible plastic use, contribute to the circular economy, and reduce improper disposal. Creating change together through Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities
Through the work at Phuc Tan Forest Park, Keep Vietnam Clean set out to improve the quality of a public space for the people who use it, and to spread a sense of environmental responsibility that starts where we live, connect and spend our ordinary days.
Protecting the environment has never been easy work. Every helping hand still makes a measurable difference — and Clean Up, Green Up Our Cities exists to give people somewhere concrete to put that hand.
